The
Jazz pianist and composer Thelonious Sphere Monk was born
in 1920 and is regarded as one of the greatest seminal
figures of modern jazz and also suprisingly retaining
his toe to every school of jazz.
With
other greats such as Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie,
Monk can rightly take his place as one of the pioneers
of bepop .
