Brazilian
Tropical Orchestra originates from the Sao Paolo and Rio
De Janeiro regions of Brazil, and features some of Brazils
finest musicians.
As
an orchestra they have recorded many exceptional albums,
not only featuring music by the great Latin American composers
such as their fellow Brazilian and world famous Antonio
Carlos Jobim, but many other international writers and composers,
for instance George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Burt Bacherach.
Bacharach and Hal David These great American songwriters
had worldwide hits with “Walk On By”, “Raindrops Keep Falling
On My Head”, “I Say A Little Prayer “ and many, many more.
Lyracist Hal David was born in New York in 1921, Burt Bacharach
seven years later in Kansas City. They first met in the
offices of famous Paramount Music Company in 1957 and went
on to form one of the most successful writing partnerships
in history. The partnership lasted over 15 years during
which they wrote hits for some of the most well know artists
in the music industry including Dionne Warwick, Aretha Franklin,
The Carpenters, Gene Pitney, BJ Thomas and Dusty Springfield.
